IAN RAINEY BA LLB

Ian holds the franchise in Northern Ireland for MSL’s Executive Recruitment and Outplacement Consulting
business. Formerly he has had twenty years experience in International and Merchant Banking. He has
held directorships in financial institutions in the UK, USA, Australia, Thailand, the Philippines,
Hong Kong, Singapore and Dublin. Before joining MSL he was, for three years, Managing Director of
Belfast International Airport. Ian has lived and worked in London, South Africa, the Philippines
and the USA and brings to MSL the practical experience of having been a major employer of senior
executive staff in each of these countries.

A career in banking has given him a broad understanding of business across most industrial
and commercial sectors and his various roles in top management have given him an in-depth
understanding of the competencies demanded of successful managers in today’s business environment.
It is this practical experience which differentiates Ian from his competitors in the Executive
Recruitment arena in the Northern Ireland market.
A former council member of the CBI, Ian is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Institute of
Directors and as such is well connected in the local business environment. His experiences in
overseas markets has given him the ability to network world-wide with Northern Ireland ex-patriates
and to draw on this important pool when searching for top management executives to return to
the Province.
